Blog Post #4

One of the islands I chose was the Bahamas. Speaking from experience, the Bahamas is a very beautiful place with a variety of different interesting things to learn. One of the topics that I'm very interested in discussing is the culture of the people who are native to the Bahamas. I'm excited to talk about their customs/beliefs, the different types of food they eat, and the holidays they celebrate. Also the common language(s) spoken by the people who live there.

However, I'm very interested in researching the history of the Bahamas. History is the most important out of all of these topics because pretty much all of these concepts lead back to the island's history. The history will help in understanding how their civilization as a whole was established. This topic should provide a lot of insight on the development of the island(s) and its inhabitants because it encompasses all aspects of the island. It should also provide information about potential conflicts between the inhabitants of the islands and foreigners. The history of the islands would also allow me to understand how the culture and traditions of the native people of the Bahamas originated. In addition to history, another topic I would like to discuss is the island's economy as well. I plan to research the economics of the Bahamas to understand how their economy works and evaluate the similarities and differences of other popular economies.  As well as how their economy has affected the success of the island.

The overall topic I want to research is the history of the Bahamas. By researching the history, I will be able to completely understand the other topics like culture, language, and economy. So the most essential subject for the basis of this project is history because it will further the comprehension of the other minor topics.
